Scenic Beauty and Inspirational Messages Feature at Women in Adventure Film Festival

Approach Adventure in association with Harrup Park Country Club and BOQ Mackay City is proud to be bringing The No Man's Land Film Festival to Mackay. This is the first time this exciting festival is being shown in Australia.

The films are set in some of the world’s most dramatic landscapes creating the perfect backdrop for contemplation and new journeys.

Some of the 10 films being showcased include:

EDGES - At the ripe age of 90, Yvonne Dowlen has yet to retire from her ice-skating career. Arguably the world's oldest ice skater, she is still at the rink five days a week.

LIV BEYOND - Shannon Galpin, the first woman to mountain bike in Afghanistan, introduces biking to young women in Afghanistan. She is laying a foundation that supports the independence and freedom of Afghan women, using bicycles as the vehicle.

CATCH IT – This movie traces French surfer Léa Brassy and her nomadic lifestyle which leads her to the the Lofoten Islands in Northern Norway. Trading in her bikini for a thick wetsuit, she connects with the surrounding mountains, Arctic surf, and simple living. Whether it’s paddling hard for a wave, or chasing after a passion.

EQUAL FOOTING - A beautiful short film documenting the experience of two women explores the fabric of loss, life, and friendship through rock climbing in remote Wyoming .
